Current Events:
Gryphon's have been discovered in a cavern in the forest north of the new Kingdom. Magistrate Nukla is training them to be riden as they were before they had been believed to be extinct in 1231.

Recent History:
Sixty-four years ago a war erupted between the Hog and large band of evil barbarians that lived in the jungles north of the kingdom. After 62 years of fighting, the barbarians were annhiliated, but just barely. Only 390 Hog members of the entire populus of the Hog Kingdom remained alive. The army was all but destroyed but is quickly increasing in number. The only living member of the royal family is Teneb Niko VI, who is now King. The Hog Kingdom was totally destroyed. Very little remained of the Kingdom except for the Royal Dinning Set and the Royal Bedroom Set, the rest was destroyed. The castle destroyed, the city burnt to the ground. All that remained was bad memories. So as the new King's first order, the Kingdom was to be moved and rebuilt in the vacinity of the Red Dragon Inn. the new castle has been completed anc there is a village, which is quickly appraoching the classification of 'city', around it and the Hog Army is regrowing. The King, in a very untraditional move is now engaged to a non-Hog. This is the first time this has ever happened in recorded Hog history which goes back over 1200 years.

Previous History:
Recorded history of the Kingdom of the Hog dates back over 1200 years. This history was recorded by order of the ruler of the time, King Jahuk Niko I, this was his first action as ruler. As part of this action a dating system was created with the year of this order being 0RH (recorded history), years before were negatives and after positives (The current year on the Hog calandar is 1241RH). After this order all major events were recorded, unfortunately much of this history was destroyed in the wars.

Rulers of the Hog Kingdom have always been determined as the eldest child of the King and Queen that is living at the death or resignation of the King or Queen (this depends on which one was actually born into the royal family not married into it).

In 1132RH, during the reign of King Jahuk VIII, the Hog army was introduced. Before this time the only protection the Hog had was their own magical abilities, which although were great most knew only defencive spells and an offence was needed exspecially seeing that the kingdom was growing and as was the risk of war. Jahuk VIII's army consisted entirely of non-Hogs who for exchange for their military service were granted free land and all the rights held by Hog's. In addition to this army, Jahuk had the Magistrate and Mage Council train Gryphon's as riders for the Hog. Gryphons were inhabitting a canyon not far from kinddom. Jahuk's eldest child, his daughter Lyna III, who succeded him to the thrown, encouraged growth of the army and under her, the population of the empire climaxed in 1177RH with roughly 2,900,000 which was 1,700,000 Hog and 1,200,000 non-Hog (this includes families of the army, the army itself had 450,000 men). Shortly after this census, 3 months to be exact, an evil barbarian race, which was named by the Hog, the "Kutiota" which means Evil One's, began to invade Hog outposts and villages on the outskirks of the kingdom in the jungles. One of the villages that was attacked was host to Queen Lyna who was touring the kingdom at the time, all at the village except 4 were killed, the Queen was one of the fatalities. Prince Alexander Niko, the eldest child of Lyna III succeded the thrown, little is known from this period through the war because nearly all records and people of this period were destroyed, it was believed that the Gryphon's had become extinct in 1231 after a large battle in their canyon. There were 12 rulers during the 62 year war, the last one, Queen Alexandra V died from injuries 2 months after the Kutiota were annhiliated. Her only living relative, her brother, Teneb Niko succeded the thrown.

There is little information from before 0RH, and the information that there is is not verified and could be false, nevertheless, here is what there is:
The Hog Civil War?:
There have been some documents found that indicate that around (on the modern hog calendar) -27RH the monarcy of the time, which was the Knuko Royal Family (a family which is also found in Hog mythology), made several unorthodox and unpopular decisions, they encouraged citizens to forget about their mage upbringings and forget magic. The Hog populus was apparently very unhappy with this and a war outbroke between the Knuko and their supports and the Hog's who believed they should continue with the ways of magic, this war apparently was ended around -1RH and the leader of the pro-magic fighters, Jahuk Niko, took the thrown and ordered that all previous records be destroyed and those who wished magic abolished executed, then he rebegan recorded history stating that none was recorded previous to that date. It is also stated in some documents that the survivors of the defeated Knuko supporters fled to the jungles and lived in barbaric non-magic ways like some of the ancestors of the Hog supposedly did (see Mythology section). It has been theorized that the barbarians which fought the Hog Kingdom in the recent war were decendants of the Knuko supporters.
